General Description
The Extrusion Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Extrusion and Printing departments. This includes all aspects of the production, maintenance, safety, quality, and housekeeping. Extrusion Supervisors work 12-hour shifts and rotate dayshift/nightshift every 28 days. Reports to Production Manager
Example of Work Performed
- Directs production and maintenance personnel in production volume, cost, safety, quality and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
- Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of the production operators.
- Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Maintains the plant in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
- Responsible for training, evaluation and discipline of employees.
- Recommend and implement improvements to the procedures used in the plant to improve production, insure quality, eliminate waste and reduce costs.
- Communicate and work with other crews and departments on problems and delays.
- Assures machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for safe and efficient production.
- Adherence to the Clean Zone Requirements Policy.
- Perform other duties as required or directed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years prior supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- High school graduate with additional college-level courses a plus.
- Strong leadership and organizations skills.
- Positive attitude and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
- Detail-oriented.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task.
Physical Functions
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to load a roll of plastic weighing up to 350 lbs.
- Must be able to operate an overhead hoist to left rolls weighing up to 650 lbs.
- Must be able to operate a pallet jack and forklift with loads in excess of 2000 lbs.
Pay: $55,000.00 to $75,000.00
